Check This Out

I just heard about this cool personal tracking site. It is called Plazes, it allows you to see other plazes members within a,2 kilometre, 5 kilometre and all members around where ever you have connected to the internet. I have found no real application for this myself since I am the only one I know using this program, but I am sure there are many useful things you can do with it. You can set up your own plaze, mine is mogley's hangout. Just check it out, it is cool and has alot of potential in the right hands.....not mine though.

No pain, No GAIM

If you are like me and you hate microsoft but you are stuck using MSN messenger with all its ads. Well have no fear, there are alternatives and they are no longer just for Linux. GAIM is a open source free software instant messenger, with support for MSN and almost any other instant messenger you can think of. It even has an encryption plugin if you are neurotic as me about internet privacy. I just uninstalled MSN and hopefully will never install it again on my computer.

internet explorer tab within firefox

this is a new firefox extension, that allows you to open IE in a firefox tab. This works for all the pages that do not work with Firefox and need IE.

This issue with having to use IE for some pages was my only problem with firefox and now I do not need IE at all, the hateful thing that it is. Everyone should check it out.

Recapture Days Gone By

Have you ever just been sitting around wondering to yourself, "Man, right now I could go for some cartoons of my youth". Well never fear bitorrent comes through again, if you can rember what the show was called just goto any bitorrent search engine(I have mentioned many before in this blog, just look em up) type in the name and more than not you will find every single episode of your favorite show for your viewing pleasure. I at this moment have downloaded all 5 seasons of the early 90's x-men show that I grew up on and also 2 seasons of the mid 90's Spiderman The Animated Series and they are still as good as I remember them. This just does not apply to cartoons I am sure you will be able to find any out-of-date/obscurly known show out there that tickles your fancy. I just thought I would let you know the great and awsome power of the internet hold no bounds.

Been So Busy Lately

Between working full time and trying to get Nathan and mine's new podcast of the ground and out the masses. If you have not checked us out goto Pulse 6 and download and give it a listen and than post comments here or get in contact with us, once I have the contact page up and running. Anyway I did a little piece along time ago about different CD/DVD burning software and I made the recomendation of using Sonic burning products. Well I would like to retract this recomendation because the software Sonic makes causes more problems than I am will to get into on this blog. I was forced to go back to Nero but after using it again for the last few days I cannot remember for thelife of me why I left it in the first place. It may not be the slickest looking program in the world but it was made for functionalty and function it does. If you have Nero and where thinking about switching, don't, there is nothing else out there that has as many functions and no extra crap like Nero. There is a reason it is the most used burning software in the world. Thatwas my rant for the day, I feel better now. Later

Google to Jump on the IM(Instant Messaging) Train.

All Aboard.......Google and Yahoo have been duking it out on who is going to be the biggest search engine, mail client, etc of them all. Now the rumor mill is in full production, siting that as of tomorrow Google is going to be announcing that it has a new IM(Instant Messsaging) program to rival MSN and Yahoo. Apperently some people have tried to connect to the Google server and got weird things happen (not entirely sure what, something like a login page or something) and also that something was mentioned in the New York Times about a "Communication Tool" after talking about Google's new "Side Bar/Tool bar". I guess time will tell whether or not they can knock MSN and Yahoo of there high horses because I know I would gladly give up MSN for something more compatible and fun to use, of course without losing all my contacts.

Update on August 24, 2005
P.S. Google Talk download Googles IM here and if you do add me to your list

Sometimes the Best Things in Life are Free

I know this is probably way late but I only just found out about it so bare with me on this. When I started this blog I mentioned that I use Widgets for Windows XP, to clarify widgets are little java applets that do certain tasks ie. clocks, volume control, to-do lists.... Now we can all do this for free using Konfabulator, you just have to love when a big company like Yahoo buys a little company and makes all its features free, yes I said free. I think everyone should try it, this program brings me a little closer to my dream of owning a Mac one feature at a time.

P.S. If anyone wants to know about the dock on the side of my screen leave a comment and I will tell you what it is.

The Future Is This Way, Oh Wait....Maybe It Is This Way.

Have you ever been tired of watching T.V. on the T.V. stations schedual? Sick and tired of more and more commercials destroying a perfectly good show? Now you do not have to deal with this anymore because Bittorrent is here to save us. Most of who use Bittorrent to download software but with the invention of PVR's (Personal Video Recorders), people are recording television shows pulling out the commercials and putting them on the web. Soon T.V.'s will be completly unnecessary to watch T.V. shows or "web shows" as I like to call them. You just have to download your favorite shows new episode and watch it when ever you want too, which is the best thing since sliced bread too me. Just use google to search for shows or use your favorite bittorrent search engine and you will be surprised how many shows you will find. My favorite right now is CFH Tracker which is a Call for Help torrent tracker for all the new episodes of the show. Leo Laporte is the man and Amber and Andy are prety cool too.

News and Update Information

Well I have gotten behind on my updates because I started a new job last week than wore me out pretty good. I promise though that I will update more this week to make up for it. I also have a bit of news in that I am designing/creating a web page. What it is about? I do not know. When will it be up? I have no idea but I have registered my little space on the internet here and have posted a horrible under construction page, check it out, literally did it in under 5 mins upload and all.
